Great news for Florida children and their parents!
Governor Ron DeSantis has signed into law CS/HB1301 which establishes a rebuttable presumption of equal shared parenting when parents divorce. Florida now joins Kentucky, West Virginia, and Arkansas as pure equal shared parenting states within the U.S.!
In order for the bill to pass, language directed at alimony reform and an end to permanent alimony in the state had to be removed, so there is still a lot of work to do in FL when it comes to healthy family law, but this is a huge victory for families!
